Established in 1973, the FIA WORLD RALLY CHAMPIONSHIP (WRC) is widely regarded as the most challenging motorsport championship in the world. The roads on this global motorsport adventure vary from snow packed forest tracks to rock-strewn mountain passes in some of the most exciting destinations around the world.

Since 2013, WRC Promoter GmbH has been responsible for marketing the WRC commercial rights as well as producing the media rights inventory from all rallies across the WRC calendar. For more information visit www.wrc.com

We are now seeking to recruit an experienced media rights executive to lead the continued growth of this pillar of our ambitious business. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in international media rights sales and distribution together with an understanding of television production. In addition, experience in Broadcast Partner account management would be considered an advantage.

Maximize the distribution and revenue from WRC media content with a view to securing commercial growth and optimizing exposure for WRC’s stakeholder partners

Review, develop and execute the future sales strategy for WRC media content both in terms of traditional Broadcast Partners but also with a view to emerging distribution platforms

Management of a global network of exclusive rights to ensure contractual compliance

Oversee relationships as the main point of contact with WRC’s international Broadcast Partners both in terms of their contractual obligations and day to day account management across editorial, production, distribution and promotion

Work closely with WRC’s other Business Heads in particular

  • With our Head of Production in the development of WRC media content aimed at driving growth and visibility on a global basis
  • With the WRC’s own content (OTT) platform in collaborating on a joined-up approach to individual markets
  • With our Director of Events in developing suitable distribution strategies to promote each of the WRC’s events considering the specific needs and requirements of local stakeholders
  • With our General Legal Counsel in broadcast tender sales processes and media rights drafting and negotiations
Das zeichnet dich aus:

Beschreibe die Qualifikationen, die der Bewerber mitbringen sollte:
  • Business related degree (e.g. media, marketing, sales, law)
  • Significant experience (preferably 10+ years) in a senior broadcast focused role
  • Ability to demonstrate a detailed understanding of sports rights values globally as well the drafting and implementation of media rights contracts
  • A thorough understanding of the commercial media rights landscape including changing trends and developments with a view to be being able to identify new opportunities
  • A proven network of contacts within the sports industry both in terms of Broadcast partners and media rights agencies
  • Fluent business English, written and spoken (additional languages are a plus)
  • Confident in sales, communication and presentation with strong strategic and analytical skills
  • An ability to manage the demands of considerable international travel
  • A Team player able to work collaboratively with the other parts of the WRC’s business
  • Contractual place of work is Munich, but flexibility may apply for the right candidate
