Purpose of the role:

The Senior Brand Manager will report into the Head of Germany and be responsible for the development and management of the brand strategy and communication plan for Germany. They will be responsible for the creation and implementation of innovative brand campaigns to drive awareness, preference, and customer engagement.

The responsibilities include the development of the brand marketing strategy from conception and design, communications planning, management of stakeholders, to delivery to market and the post launch appraisal / reporting process. The localisation of the global brand strategy and positioning for Germany is also a very important part of this role.

You will be responsible for:

  • Develop and implement the German brand strategy and execute in-year brand marketing plans
  • Work closely with our creative agency to bring our brand to life
  • Define and own the relevant research and measurement framework to ensure campaigns are effective and continually optimised to deliver against targets
  • Define and spend within the agreed budget and preparing business cases for additional investments where needed
  • Management of all creatives and media buying across TV, Radio, OOH and other ATL media
  • Build strong alignment with external agencies and partners, setting direction, performance indications and KPI measures
  • Support the local marketing team in defining “who” we are trying to reach, “how” we plan on reaching them and “when” the right time is
  • Be the ambassador of the brand by engaging with cross functional teams continuously and consistently
  • Provide local marketing teams with the strategic frameworks and guardrails to guide & support the creation of relevant, localized campaigns, plans and tactics that align to the German brand strategy and to compliance standards / guidelines
  • Work with local marketing teams to ensure an optimised brand campaign execution and a joined up holistic customer experience across all touchpoints
  • Track and report delivery against brand and marketing KPIs, customer acquisition targets, through planning and delivering effective multi-media ATL advertising campaigns as well as analyse brand performance trends of betway and key competitors locally
  • Provide clear and relevant performance insights to senior stakeholders; as well as meaningful conclusions from brand, media, and business metrics to help inform strategies, plans, and tactics on an on-going basis
  • Ensure all brand activity reflects our core values
  • Stakeholder management (external agencies, internal marketing channel teams and senior management)

You will have (Essential skills):

  • Fluent in German and strong understanding of German culture
  • Strong history of relevant ATL brand and direct response campaigns and communication experience, with demonstrable evidence of the role and results you’ve delivered building market leading brands. Ideally with direct experience in a high-scale online business
  • Experience of media planning/buying (agency or client side)
  • Experience of managing creative advertising campaigns (from initial concept to execution)
  • Experience of working in an innovative brand team and managing a brand communications strategy
  • Ability to influence and manage stakeholders (both external agencies and internal teams)
  • Experience of managing a marketing budget with a key focus on ROI
  • All behavioural competencies are also essential


It will be a bonus if you have (Desirable skills):

  • Educated to degree level with a qualification in Marketing
  • Experience from a sports and/or betting background
  • Passion for sports
  • Good copywriting skills
  • A good understanding of the German market
